Seagate Travan 8GB/20GB Reference Manual 11
Is there a 40-pin IDE cable already attached to your
secondary IDE port?
If you do not already have a cable for your secondary
IDE adapter, you will need to obtain one before
installing your tape drive.
Set the master/slave jumpers
Are any other devices attached to your secondary IDE
port?
•
If a compatible ATAPI device, such as a CD-ROM, is
already attached to your secondary IDE port (as
shown in Example 3), make sure that the tape drive is
configured as a “slave.” See the figure at lower left
for master/slave jumper settings. The existing ATAPI
device should be configured as a “master.”
