5.3.5 Inserting an 8 mm magnetic tape cartridge

Ê Check that no LED is illuminated or flashing.

Ê Look into the MTC drive to check that no cartridge is already inserted.

Ê With the window face up, push the cartridge into the drive slot until it is drawn

in automatically.

I If you insert the cartridge incorrectly you will feel some resistance. Do not

then try to insert the cartridge forcefully into the drive!

If a cartridge is mounted you can access the drive using commands. It does not

matter whether the ready indicator is bright.
